Meta Data center pilot

The purpose of this project go beyond today’s cloud technologies by taking Linux Containers to the next level by creating a peer-to-peer framework for dynamic geographic distribution, coordination, and scheduling of process images and Linux Containers and thereby provide a uniform abstraction which resembles a Meta-Datacenter, providing computing power and storage as a utility. We will show that this completely virtualized and distributed datacenter can serve dynamic application spaces.

Datacenter architecture. The architecture consists of four different layers. Application processes runs inside containers, which provides an isolated runtime environment almost like a virtual machine. The containers are automatically deployed on the most suitable container runtime available.
